Real Madrid have launched a channel on Twitch, the Amazon-owned streaming service designed for gamers, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.
The club's latest digital endeavour came ahead of La Liga's charity FIFA 20 esports tournament, which was won by Real striker Marco Asensio, and saw the channel broadcast his matches live.
Since its debut on 21st March, the channel has also aired a full re-run of Brazilian striker Ronaldo's debut for Real Madrid back in 2002, hinting at more archival content to come amid the shutdown of live sports during the coronavirus pandemic.
'We want to increase the scope of our content in the face of the exceptional and difficult circumstances we are experiencing,' Real said on Twitter, announcing the launch of the channel.
For Real, the push into the gaming space comes as they are building a new esports facility as part of the renovations at their Santiago Bernabeu home.
