Real Madrid fullback Dani Carvajal was delighted to prove the matchwinner at Alaves.

Carvajal edged the game 2-1.

He said afterwards, "We're really pleased and satisfied with the performance. It's a tough place to come to, they've only conceded twice here and we've managed to get two goal. On a personal level, I'm pleased to have scored the winner. Togetherness, team work and ambition is what you need to get the three points here.

"The goal came from a move in which I slipped it to Rodrygo inside the box and Luka [Modric], Rodrygo and I switched positions. The cross came over, I was looking for a rebound and I put it away. That instinct is something you've got to have and it worked out well. In the dressing room they said it was about time, it's been coming in the last few games. I feel very much appreciated by my teammates, the fact that they're happy for you is a good sign and shows that they really care about you."
