Real Madrid fullback Dani Carvajal has hit out at Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde.

The right-back was asked about the Barcelona coach's press conference comments in favour of the previous Supercopa de Espana format following Real Madrid's 3-1 win over Valencia in the first semi-final.

"He should file a complaint," was Carvajal's response when Valverde's views were put to him.

Carvajal then went on to praise the new structure to the competition.

"It's different and the atmosphere is different," he said.

"I have played some Supercopa matches in August and many people are still on holiday.

"I've even played Clasicos and the atmosphere wasn't favourable."
