Real Madrid eager to see Tottenham keep hold of Bale

Tottenham could seek to keep hold of Gareth Bale if Harry Kane leaves this summer.

The Wales captain has endured an up and down season back in north London on loan from Real Madrid, but has shown glimmers of quality in netting 14 goals in all competitions.

AS says with Kane's future in doubt as Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea join the teams circling for the England captain, his departure could trigger another season at the club for his team-mate Bale - who feels 'happy, loved and valued' at the club.

Kane would only leave this summer for a large fee, and the club would be able to use some of the money and additional wage budget to contribute towards Bale's salary - said to be around £600,000 a week before tax.

For this reason, the move 'would benefit everyone' - with Real Madrid able to reduce their own wage bill and forget about the player as his contract only has one year left.
