Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane snapped back at a reporter last night after defeat at Alaves.
Defeat has left Real coach Julen Lopetegui fighting for his job. Real haven't won - nor scored - for the past four games.
"Whether it is only a lack of goals? That is something that can be decisive, matches can change and is important for self-confidence. If we scored in the first half, everything would have been different," said Varane.
"Of course, goals are important. You also have good and less good moments in a season, that is always the case. We must remain positive. The players have the same qualities, it only lacks results and a little more confidence."
A journalist then suggested that in such situations a coach would be changed and asked Varane if he would be surprised if this occurred.
"It is clear that you want Real Madrid to get another trainer. But we feel good about this trainer and we'll continue to work hard."
