Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has refused to discuss his club future.

The France international is being linked with a move away this week.

"I do not want to talk about my future," he said. "I am not one to discuss my future publically."

On the return of Zinedine Zidane as coach after less than a year of quitting the post, Varane was a little more cheerful.

"Nine months is not a long time. It was as if it was yesterday," he said of his boss' time away.

"I appreciate him both as a person and as a coach.

"He has been very important to me."
