Real Madrid defender Alvaro Odriozola insists they showed good character for victory at Huesca.

Gareth Bale's goal proved enough for the 1-0 triumph.

"It's no excuse, the conditions were what they were for them and for us," Odriozola said to reporters after the game. "But it was very difficult to play football well, you didn't know where the ball was going to go.

"You have to win these matches and we continue to fight."

Regardless of the manner of victory, the three points were valued.

"We're very satisfied with the three points , they were of vital importance," he continued. "A clean sheet, three points... very happy."

Odriozola also assisted Gareth Bale for the winning goal.

"With these players it's easier, Gareth puts it where he wants," he added. "It was a great goal, there's no easy opponent in the league, it's hard to beat everyone.

"Every game we have to play as a final."
