Real Madrid defender Nacho was delighted to score in their 4-1 defeat of Alaves.

Real Madrid kicked off the season impressively with the victory.

Nacho said, “I'm happy to get the first win under our belts. We were better and came out much stronger in the second half and now we have to try and do that from the first whistle. We're happy to have got the three points, which was our aim today.

“The goal was more about Luka (Modric) than me, he's a genius. I'm happy to be able to help the team, we have to keep this up. It's the first win but this is a long-run thing. This team has stacks of potential up top, star players in this sport. If we build a good team, the goals will come.

"Like every year, I work hard to get more minutes and the more I play, the better for me. I'm happy and I always say so."
