Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo 'happy despite setbacks'

Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo insists he's happy with his form this season.

Vallejo has battled for minutes since returning from a loan spell in Germany with Eintracht Frankfurt.

But he insists: “During my first year at Real Madrid I've been very happy from a personal point of view, while it's true that from a professional perspective, I've had a few setbacks with injuries. But in general terms, whenever I've played, I've settled in well alongside my teammates and I've been ready whenever the coach has called on me.

"It felt amazing against Juventus. It wasn't an easy match but the team was able to stand up strong against Juve's pressure despite the three goals and we made it through to the semi-finals, which is the most important thing."
