Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal insists they deserved their 2-1 win at Levante.

Carvajal spoke to the media after his team stole a 2-1 win at Levante with two penalties.

"VAR has sometimes hurt us," said Carvajal, defending the controversial triumph. "Sometimes it hurts you and at other times it benefits you and you have to keep working."

The most controversial thing was the second penalty, given after Casemiro dived in the box.

"For the second penalty I was 25 metres away and I heard the kick (on Casemiro)," said Carvajal.

"I'm no referee, I don't evaluate the decisions, but the referee who was so close and VAR have ratified that decision as a penalty. Other times we've been hurt (by decisions), being a referee is difficult."
