Real Madrid are confident signing AS Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
AS says Spanish giants Real have decided to pursue his signature.
They also claim the two clubs have made progress in negotiations over the last few weeks, although there is still work to be done on agreeing a fee. Monaco are thought to value their player at slightly more than £50million.
Los Blancos chief scout Juni Calafat is said to have followed Tchouameni's progress for months, and the club are 'fully confident' of making the deal happen given the player's 'desire to join the 13-time European champions'.
If he signs, Tchouameni would likely be a long-term midfield successor to the likes of Luka Modric, 36, Toni Kroos, 32 and Casemiro, 30.
