Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane is weighing up the future of Luka Modric.

The Ballon d'Or has battled for consistent form this season and Zidane, reports Le 10 Sport, is having serious doubts about Modric's place in his plans next season.

Modric came close to joining Inter Milan last summer and remains a target for the Nerazzurri.

The 33 year-old has let it be known he is willing to stay next season, though could be encouraged to leave by Zidane if he can land Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.

Indeed, the Dane is viewed inside Madrid as the player to eventually succeed Modric in their midfield.
