Real Madrid coach Zidane: We deserved victory over Valencia

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane was delighted with their 3-1 defeat of Valencia in the Supercopa de Espana.

The result sees Real move to the final in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Toni Kroos scored an Olympic goal to open the scoring, while Isco capped an impeccable 90 minutes with a goal, followed by a superb outside-of-the-boot strike from Luka Modric to round out an excellent team performance from Real Madrid.

A late penalty conversion from Dani Parejo served as the lone Valencia score.

Afterwards, Zidane said: "It is a victory. We play to win. We put all the ingredients in the game to win and it is a deserved victory, very worked and happy for the result.

"We are working well. We are emotionally well. All the players are involved. We have all the ingredients to make good matches. That is what we did against Valencia, against a rival who are very good. In the end we got it. Now we have to rest because it's only a semifinal."
