Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane wants Luka Modric to snub national team selection.

Modric is currently sidelined with injury, though is expected to be called up by Croatia for the Euro qualifiers against Hungary and Wales, which will be held on October 10th and 13th.

Marca says Zidane wants Modric to stay in Madrid and avoid risking a setback in his recovery.

Zidane's stand has the full support of the board, which will make the request on his behalf.
