Real Madrid coach Zidane hails hat-trick ace Rodrygo: The new Butragueno?

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane was delighted with their 6-0 Champions League rout of Galatasaray.

Rodrygo Goes struck a hat-trick and Karim Benzema a brace in the win.

Zidane enthused about Rodrygo: “He is only eighteen years old. We are so pleased with him. When he gets a chance to play he always does well, he did that tonight in every sense. He works hard and does a lot of things.

"We need to have patience and not pressure him. I am not surprised whatsoever, he is very talented. Perhaps we can be surprised by the three goals. He is happy, his game is a real joy to watch.

“Logically we can be happy with the 6 goals today, but we also kept a clean sheet tonight, defending and respecting our rivals until the end because sometimes when you are 4 goals up at half time you can relax, but we didn't. Whenever we lost the ball we pressed hard and that led to us having a well-rounded game."

On comparisons with Emilio Butragueno, Zidane added: “Rodrygo is a top-quality player and he came here to do what he is doing. This is only the start, I really hope he can continue to do this well. We need to be calm with and not pressure him too much.

"I saw Butragueño play later on, not at the age of 18. We all know about the career Butragueño had at Madrid and I have seen him speak about Rodrygo. Everyone knows he is a player for the future. I hope he keeps on as is he is doing and can have a career like Butragueño did at Real Madrid."
