Real Madrid coach Zidane denies Isco problems after benching for victory over Getafe

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane denies problems with Isco after their 2-0 win against Getafe.

Many people were left surprised by the 28-year-old's presence on the bench given Los Blancos' lack of options, with Marvin Park starting and Sergio Arribas even coming on before him, but Zidane provided an insight as to why.

"He couldn't play. He trained with the team once and hasn't played much," Zidane responded when asked about Isco in his post-match press conference.

"He has only done one training session."

Real Madrid played with a 3-4-3 formation, with Marvin and Marcelo as right and left wing-back respectively, and it worked well, as shown with the 2-0 victory in Los Merengues' favour.

"We didn't prepare it very much, but in the end we spent some time before the game talking and organising it, and the players understood it very well," Zidane explained.

"And it's good, when it's a formation you're not used to, and it turned out to be a good game."
