Real Madrid coach Zidane delighted with Asensio and Marcelo for victory over Eibar

Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane was delighted with Marcos Asensio and Marcelo for victory over Eibar.

Asensio scored Real Madrid's first goal against Eibar to net for the third game in a row.

"I'm happy for Marco. It's important for a player to score goals," Zidane said.

"It's important because he gives him confidence and energy.

"It's important for him to score and he's looking good to me.

"Marco is like this every day.

"He helps the team because he's a very good player. Nothing has changed [since his injury].

"We've suffered a lot this season and now we're enjoying ourselves because we have more confidence.

"We know what we're playing for. We're still alive in two competitions."

Marcelo also impressed in a left wing-back role against Eibar, having spent much of the campaign on the sidelines.

"He did an amazing job," Zidane said on the Brazilian.

"We know he's good on the ball and that he can play in lots of positions.

"He played very well and we're happy with how everyone played.

"We were focused and convincing.

"What's more, it's a long time since Marcelo played."
