Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane explained leaving strikers Luka Jovic and Borja Mayoral on the bench for their 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad.
Los Blancos needed a goal in order to secure all three points, but instead the likes of academy players Marvin Park and Sergio Arribas came on instead of the two strikers.
"I didn't want to change the system, we had to put players on out wide - that's what we did," Zidane responded.
"I have a lot of players. Today, I have made this choice.
"I don't have anything against Jovic or against any player, I just didn't want to change the system and that's why I changed the wingers."
Zidane was left feeling frustrated as even these changes didn't have the impact he was hoping for.
"They are two points lost because we always go for the win," the coach insisted.
"In general, we had a good game; we didn't give anything away in defence.
"In the first half we created chances, but not in the second."
