Real Madrid coach Ancelotti sorry seeing Barcelona struggle

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti insists he's sorry seeing Barcelona struggling on and off the pitch.

Barcelona's start to the season has been plagued by infighting between the president Joan Laporta and Ancelotti's counterpart, Ronald Koeman, who has come under mounting pressure after the Blaugrana drew with Cadiz on Thursday evening.

"I watch games, I like football, I'm not happy if a team has a bad time. Look, I evaluate and focus on my time, I like football and all the games, nothing else," Ancelotti responded when asked about the situation at Barcelona.

"I'm not happy if things don't work out for a team, whether it's Barcelona or anyone else."

Next up for Los Blancos is another home tie as Unai Emery's Villarreal travel to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

"We're going to face a team with a lot of quality, experience, organisation, used to playing high-level games," Ancelotti said as he analysed his next opponent.

"The game is very, very important and we'd like to do it well, to beat Villarreal you have to do everything well."
