Real Madrid coach Ancelotti happy with victory over Getafe; eases Camavinga concern

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti was happy with victory over Getafe.

Real won 1-0 via Marco Asensio's strike.

“I have a clear idea of Wednesday's team today, I have no doubts at all," Ancelotti said, referring to their Champions League semifinal second-leg at Manchester City. "We're feeling confident. I have a strong bench with players that can contribute in this type of game. Last year the players who came off the bench helped us win the Champions League.

“You always play with fire in this job. What can I do? I've named a competitive and fresh squad so that no one complains that we're giving an advantage to an opponent who's fighting relegation. Those who were tired didn't play. It's a good sign that we go into Wednesday with the full squad available.

“Guardiola has complained about the calendar, which is too packed. We played with less rest in the first leg and now it's their turn. The schedule isn't ideal and that's all there is to it. There are too many games for everyone. It was better for them to play on Saturday than on Sunday, and they're right about that. I don't know why we played the first leg on Tuesday instead of Wednesday. All the coaches complain about the calendar and someone has to do something in the future."

Eduardo Camavinga was forced off injured and Ancelotti added: “He's jarred his knee, but it is only a knock. The knee is stable, but he's in a bit of discomfort. It's nothing. He'll recover soon. Tomorrow he'll rest like everyone else who's played. I think he'll train with the team on Monday without any problems."
