Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has dismissed talk of a World Cup every two years.
Ancelotti was speaking to Radio Rai 1.
Despite the departures of stars such as Sergio Ramos and Leo Messi, Ancelotti believes LaLiga Santander will be just fine.
"LaLiga lost great players [in the summer], but there are others who are coming through now," he said.
"One of them is our very own Vinicius. We are very encouraged and we have started the season well."
Then Ancelotti gave his views on a World Cup being held every two years.
"Play the World Cup every two years? Well, while we're at it, let's just play one a year," he said sarcastically.
"The schedules are a very serious problem. Something has to change. There are games that make little sense.
"FIFA and UEFA should talk about it. It is true that at this moment perhaps they do not agree with each other much, but the pressure on the players is too high."
