Real Madrid coach Ancelotti added to Man Utd shortlist

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has been added to Manchester United's managerial shortlist.

United are eager to make a long-term appointment in the summer, with Paris Saint-Germain's Mauricio Pochettino and Ajax's Erik Ten Hag among their preferred candidates.

However, as reported by ESPN, United have a contingency plan which would involve attempting to bring in Ancelotti.

Ancelotti has a close relationship with legendary former United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who has been giving advice to the club's new CEO Richard Arnold.

Real Madrid are currently six points clear at the top of LaLiga, and Ancelotti possesses extensive coaching experience.

The 62-year-old has previously coached in England with Chelsea (with whom he won the Premier League and the FA Cup) and Everton.

Ancelotti has won the Champions League on three occasions - twice with AC Milan and once with Real Madrid.
