Real Madrid chiefs slam ref: A shame, a robbery, it was scandalous

Real Madrid are furious with ref Juan Martinez Munuera after Sunday's 2-2 draw with Sevilla.

A hand-ball awarded against Eder Militao has angered Real, with Sevilla converting the resulting penalty, while Karim Benzema had a goal disallowed and Casemiro's foul for Sevilla's first goal was also disputed.

Sources from the board room have described the match officials' performance as "a shame, a robbery, it was scandalous", reports Okdiario, while one director stated, "The campaigns always end up having their effect", referring to media questions about how Real Madrid won last season's title amid claims of Zinedine Zidane's team were given an easy ride by match officials.

Meanwhile, at the final whistle Real chief Emilio Butragueno also stated: "These decisions worry us."

The result was a blow for Real Madrid and their late season title hopes. Los Merengues are now two points behind LaLiga leaders Atletico Madrid, knowing they would've been level if not for Sunday's draw.

With three games left in this LaLiga title battle, Real Madrid are next in action on Thursday night at Granada.
