Real Madrid chief Emilio Butragueno says management want to see Marcelo stay.
The veteran wing-back has been linked with Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus, though his circumstances have improved since the return of coach Zinedine Zidane.
And Butragueno says: "I hope Marcelo will be here a long time. He conveys happiness and has a lot of class.
"His offensive game earned him the merit of scoring many goals. He has been with us for many years and I hope there will be many more to please our fans."
For the victory over Villarreal, Marcelo reached 341 appearances, the same number made by Real Madrid's current Director of Institutional Relations.
