Real Madrid chief Emilio Butragueno has hinted it's critical Sergio Ramos is secured to a new contract.
The captain scored in victory over Real Mallorca amid claims negotiations over a new deal are at deadlock.
Butragueno said, "Great goal, extraordinary. The first goal is also magnificent. That free-kick wouldn't be scored by any specialist, it was unstoppable.
"What I can say about Sergio is admiration for what he represents and demonstrates. Conviction, leadership, heart, quality and commitment. His presence means a lot to the team and the opponent. He is an impressive player in all parts of the game. He'd be a difficult player to replace for many years."
Ramos hit back at Barcelona defender Gerard Pique's claims after the win.
And Butragueno added: "It is logical that Sergio transmits that feeling because it is very difficult to win and it is difficult to be first on the table, because behind there is a lot of sacrifice and a lot of training.
"He feels that way, it is difficult to be first in a very difficult championship. It is more difficult to win."
