Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has decided to suspend talks over a new contract.
Ramos, 33, is inside the final 18 months of his current deal and would prefer to remain with Real. However given his age, Real are refusing to meet his demands of a longer deal than 12 months.
Rather than fall out with the season still ongoing, Ramos has declared both parties are happy to wait until the summer before revisiting negotiations.
"No one is in a hurry," said Ramos.
"I understand that with a certain age, they only offer one year, but if the club wants me to continue, I'm still here."
