Real Madrid captain Ramos: I was not attacking Conte...

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos insists he never sought to publicly criticise Antonio Conte last week.

It was claimed Ramos was talking about the sacked Chelsea manager when discussing Real's next coach, warning:

"Respect is won, it's not imposed. We've won titles, and team management is more important than the knowledge of a coach."

However, after their Champions League win at Viktoria Plzen, Ramos denied he was talking about Conte.

He said: "I did not speak at all about him, I generalized about the hard hand, but I did not talk about him.

"I just said that a coach has to earn respect.

"Since Cristiano (Ronaldo) left, the one in the spotlight is me, but I'm good."
