Former Juventus coach Max Allegri is the favoured choice for Real Madrid's board.
Okdiario reports if Zinedine Zidane decides to step down at the end of the season, Allegri is the favoured option to replace him for the board.
While there's admiration for Castilla coach Raul, the board believes he lacks the necessary experience to handle the step up.
Instead, they would move for free agent Allegri, who turned down the post the last time Zidane walked away after winning the Champions League in 2018.
The Italian has been out of work since leaving Juve in 2019 and recently stated he was ready to return to management this new season.
