Real Madrid, Barcelona watch as Alaba rejects latest Bayern Munich contract offer

David Alaba has rejected the latest new contract offer from Bayern Munich.

The Bavarians offered him a salary of 11 million euros per year.

However, BILD says Alaba decided against putting pen to paper. A possible reason for turning down the offer could be the potential interest of the two LaLiga Santander powerhouses Real Madrid and Barcelona.

With Marcelo entering the final stretch of his illustrious career at Los Blancos, Madrid would consider replacing him with the 28-year-old full-back who can also play at centre-back.

Meanwhile, Junior Firpo's unconvincing performances along with Jordi Alba's below-par displays in the last few seasons, have urged Barcelona to look for a left-back. Alaba's potential signing would strengthen the team's defence and would be a great addition to Ronald Koeman's squad.
