Real Madrid attacker James pushing for Atletico move

Real Madrid attacker James Rodriguez wants to stay in the city next season.

El Universal of Colombia reports James want to move across town to rivals Atletico Madrid this summer.

James is up for sale at Real and being encouraged to find a new club by management.

Atletico coach Diego Simeone is a big fan of James and has asked about the Colombia captain regularly this season. Last summer, Atletico made an attempt for James after the 7-3 friendly win in New Jersey, but Real president Florentino Perez rejected the approach.

Atletico are ready to try again and are offering €25m to convince Florentino to sell 12 months on.

And it's suggested that could be enough to land the midfielder, despite rival interest from Carlo Ancelotti's Everton.
