Former Real Madrid captain Raul has been confirmed as new coach of Castilla.

The 41-year-old completed a UEFA coaching course last Friday to qualify for the promotion. He had been in charge of the youth team last season.

"Raul, who has coached the Cadete B and Juvenil B sides this season, is beginning a new stage in his professional journey at Real Madrid," a club statement said.

The statement went on to list the former striker's honours with the club, where he became a legend.
