Real Madrid and Jiangsu Suning hit deadlock over Bale fee

Gareth Bale's transfer fee has seen talks between Real Madrid and Jiangsu Suning collapse.

Marca says sources close to Bale and to the negotiations say the talks are difficult and that they have come to a standstill.

Real Madrid know that Bale isn't in Zinedine Zidane's plans and that, due to the player's high salary, an exit would be in everyone's best interests, but they want to bring in some money in the form of a transfer fee.

For Jiangsu Suning, this is a problem because the Chinese government require their clubs to pay a tax equal to the amount of any transfer fee above a certain level.

As such, Bale remains a Real Madrid player for now and is due for training at 10:00 CEST on Monday morning.
