The American has already pleaded with fans inside Stamford Bridge not to compare him to his Belgian wing wizard predecessor.

And he has already received a ringing endorsement from the club's former No10, who is confident the former Borussia Dortmund player can be a star.

Speaking to The Associated Press, Hazard said: "He can be one of the best in the future for sure.

"He can be (a star). Now he's at one of the best clubs in the world. He's a proper player. He can play football."
