Gareth Bale insists he never had problems with Cristiano Ronaldo during their time together at Real Madrid.

Ronaldo left Real last summer for Juventus, where he has led them to the Champions League quarterfinals.

Bale told BT Sport: "Cristiano is an incredible player, I really enjoyed playing with him.

"Obviously, the media is trying to kick things up that we never were friendly, but we got along really well, he's an incredible player and he still is."

On signing for Real in 2013, Bale said: "I valued everything that Tottenham had done for me, but I think that at that moment they understood that when a club as big as Real Madrid comes for you, it's hard to reject them, although I was enjoying Tottenham, I loved the club."
