Real Madrid ace Bale does not make Wales a one-man team – Earnshaw

Former striker Robert Earnshaw refuses to believe that Wales are a one-man team.

The Dragons, who are on the verge of qualifying for their first major tournament since 1958, have been accused of relying too much on their star Gareth Bale.

However, Earnshaw believes that Chris Coleman's entire squad have done the job that sees them sitting on top of their Euro2016 qualifying group with a little help from Real Madrid ace Bale.

"You have to ask questions when someone says it is a one man team because then you know they probably haven't been watching," said Earnshaw, who scored 16 goals in 59 internationals.

"If you say you have (Aaron) Ramsey go to a Barcelona or another team that everyone watches then suddenly they say that you have a two man team.

"Then if you have two or three players go to a Man United then it's a four man team. I think we have a lot of players who can play at the highest level and play with different teams. They may play for Crystal Palace or Swansea but it doesn't mean they're not good players.

"Gareth Bale is brilliant, he's the one that can produce the extra magic but the actual base of football is being able to defend and keep the ball so your superstars can have the ability to do the magic.

"All the way through we haven't conceded many goals and that's been the key."
