Real Betis vice-president Jose Miguel Lopez Catalan has taken aim at Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.

He said he was angry at Ceballos' claim that the club washed its hands of him after his move to Real Madrid.

"It has bothered me a lot, his words are wrong and false," Catalan told Canal Sur Radio.

"He is painting a picture that is far from reality

"Real Betis maybe made a mistake of not having a larger release clause, but Ceballos had us thinking differently for many months.

"When he finally wanted to exit the club, he thought about himself and not Betis.

"What can't be the case is that Ceballos goes around kissing the crest and proclaiming himself to be a Betico and yet he says things that are a lie."
