Real Betis striker Ayoze Perez happy to be back in Spain

Real Betis striker Ayoze Perez is happy to be back in Spain.

After ten years in England with Newcastle and Leicester City, Perez moved to Betis in January on-loan from the Foxes, where his contract expires in June.

He told AS: "More than anything else, psychologically I believed that it was time to return to Spain, to try the experience in my country, in the highest category of our football.

"When psychologically you consider these kinds of things, the decision is a matter of time. I knew it was what my head needed, what my body was asking for, and obviously the possibility of Betis was there from the start.

"Despite the difficulties of getting England to move here, the coach wanted me to come here at all times. He tried his best and in the end we got it. This is where I wanted to be, where I feel loved, where the coach did everything possible for me to be, and I think that's priceless."
