Real Betis play hard ball with Swansea over Canas move

Swansea have been told to increase their offer if they want Real Betis midfielder Jose Canas this month. It is understood the Swans have a pre-contract agreement in place with Canas, meaning he will be free to make a move to the Liberty Stadium at the end of the season.

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup is, however, exploring the possibility of paying a fee and bringing Canas to the Liberty Stadium during January.

"It has been decided, unless Swansea say something different, that Canas stays here until 30th June," said Betis boss Pepe Mel.
