Real Betis coach Quique Setien says Marc Bartra knows he should be playing at a higher level.

Bartra faces his former club Barcelona this weekend.

Setien said, "We've talked about him so he keeps improving. The fact that he's here isn't good for him. It is for us, but not for him. To have been at Barcelona and Dortmund, I've told him many times: 'You must be doing something wrong to be at Betis, a team which in theory is smaller and has less potential than both of those sides.'"

However the coach understands that Bartra is young and still has room for improvement.

"So there are areas where he needs to improve, controlling that stress. But you need to understand that he'll improve with that as he gets older and gains experience, as it happens to all of us."
