Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini has hit out at Ronald Koeman for his axing of Barcelona striker Luis Suarez.

It's been reported new Barca coach Koeman informed Suarez he was no longer in a phone call that last less than two minutes.

Pellegrini told ESPN: "As far as I am concerned, this is not correct.

“As a trainer you have to be able to bring this kind of news face to face.

"I've been through moments like this a lot and it hurts. But when you do this by phone, it is in my opinion a lack of respect towards the player."
