Real Betis coach Pellegrini: Fans key facing Man Utd; we don't need to score 3 goals in 5 minutes

Real Betis coach Manuel Pellegrini insists they're capable of upsetting Manchester United.

Betis host the second-leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie tomorrow trailing 4-1 on aggregate.

Pellegrini said today: “The most important thing is to believe, we must play an intelligent game to try to reverse the tie. You don't have to try to score three goals in five minutes. We must be calm and try to do it with our fans from the beginning and until it ends.

“The word illusion and ambition are always good, the word excess is not. If it is not achieved, it is not a failure. It is a Champions team with a Champions League budget and players of 80 and 100 million. I think there were times when the game was even. We go hand in hand with reality, but ambition is always present.

"I would divide that second half into two parts. Antony's great goal and the 3-1 lead changed the game. We must avoid making mistakes, we must repeat what we did during that first half.

“The fans have always been fundamental for us, it has always encouraged us since I arrived here. You must feel that you can try to come back through football. In that aspect, I am sure they will always be with us. That they have no doubt that the team is going to try.

“You never know what can happen. We know that it is a great team, it is very difficult and there are few chances of qualifying. We will try to play well and then we will see if we are able to score the necessary goals."
