Real Betis chief Antonio Cordon is happy to see Andres Guardado sign a new deal.
The Mexico international midfielder penned new terms yesterday.
Cordon told Record: "With Guardado you only have to look at his resume, his four World Cups... How many players do you know with four World Cups? Very few. And how many have been captains? That defines Andrés, he is a very important player, he is a leader, is a very consistent player.
"One of the important parts of Betis is to form a group, Guardado forms a group and Betis cannot lose that value.
"A person who forms a group we have to try to keep as much as possible. We hope that Andrés will continue here for many years, that Andrés does not listen to me, not only at the football level, he is a person who can continue to contribute many things to Betis for many years."
