Reading look like being without midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson for the festive programme after he suffered a first-half knee injury in the 1-1 draw with Birmingham City.

Royals boss Steve Coppell said: "He has got stitches on his knee. He is very stiff and sore and he is going to be out for a while, a couple of weeks at least."
