Reading goalkeeper Alex McCarthy has been hailed by his teammates after their 2-2 draw with Swansea City.

Following McCarthy's outstanding display, Reading team-mate Jem Karacan believes the 22-year-old is an England star in the making.

Karacan said: "Alex has proved he is up there with the best keepers in England. If Jack Butland can get into the England mix then he is going to be in there soon. He will take all the plaudits for the point."
