Reading's Federici produces man of the match performance

Reading goalkeeper Adam Federici produced a man of the match performance in England's Championship overnight. The 24-year old Australian saved a Mark Gower penalty and made a string of fine saves in the 0-0 draw against Swansea City, earning the Royals their second point of the season.

The performance has done Federici's Socceroos chances no harm as he battles with Sivasspor's Michael Petkovic and Middlesbrough's Brad Jones for a place in the squad behind Fulham's Mark Schwarzer.

Reading now have two draws and a loss from their opening three matches and take on seventh-placed Sheffield United at Madejski Stadium on Saturday.
