Arsenal have turned down an approach from Reading for teenage midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger revealed earlier this week he wanted to send Wilshere, 17, out on loan but only to another Premier League club.

Reading manager Brendan Rodgers said: "Jack would be a terrific possibility and I have already made the enquiry on that one.

"But Jack will go to the Premier League. The reality is he is a Premier League player, he has said that himself."
