Reading boss McDermott pondering January transfer business

Brian McDermott is unsure whether or not he will look to bring in new players this winter transfer market.

The Royals sit at the foot of the Premier League table after 17 matches and although they appear to be in trouble, McDermott has suggested the squad could be good enough to see them out of the drop zone come seasons end.

However, he does feel the need to strengthen the squad slightly as to get the best out of the guys he already has at the Madejski Stadium.

"Our current squad could be strong enough to get us out of trouble, we will see in May," he said.

"We'll see if we can add players in January, sometimes you add a couple of players and that freshens things up.

"It helps to make the rest of the squad better as well, so that could definitely be a good thing for us."
