Reading boss Brian McDermott hopes they can keep hold of Shane Long.
The young striker is a target for West Ham United.
McDermott said: "I let Nick Hammond deal with stuff like that.
"From my point of view, I want to keep every single one of my players. We lost Gylfi Sigurdsson [to Hoffenheim for reportedly more than £6.5m] in the summer window. The last thing that I want is for us to lose another one now."
