Reading boss McDermott in awe of generous Everton fans

Reading boss Brian McDermott was in awe of the Goodison Park crowd after their FA Cup shock against Everton.

Captain Matt Mills struck the only goal at Goodison Park to send the Royals into the quarterfinals.

Everton fans applauded the Reading players at the final whistle and McDermott said: "The crowd was phenomenal.

"You very rarely see that in football and it just shows the class of a club of the magnitude of Everton.

"You can see the class of a club when they lose, it was the same at Liverpool.

"It is a great night for the players tonight.

"We had a game plan to come here and do what we had to do and I felt we carried that through."
