Reading boss Steve Coppell admits they could win a place in next season's UEFA Cup thanks to the Premiership's Fair Player award.
"Often I think refs are too liberal in some interpretations of the rule. Refs often say to me I always want players booked, and I say 'yes, if they break the rules, book them.' The game is about skill, not stopping skill.
"Rules are rules, I often hear Andy Gray and people saying there should be common sense but the rules are sacrosanct. If it's the 94th minute, just book him.
"We've not given many fouls away, we've been unfortunate with some red cards.
"In terms of this UEFA Cup thing, I think if we finish in a certain position we still might have to go into another draw, I'm not sure.
"Somebody said that England get an automatic place for being top, but I haven't got a clue.
"If we do have to go into it? Well, like I said, rules are rules!"
